Party Perfection

by Megan S.

Twilight Zone by Michelle's Party Plan-It
Gosh. I love parties. The decorations, the food, the details. Just thinking about it makes me want a party. Pink macaroons and a million balloons and performing baboons and give it to me now! I want the world. I want the whole world. I want to lock it all up in my pocket. It's my bar chocolate. Give it to me now!

Errr, what was I writing about?  Oh yes. Parties. I stumbled across a fantastic blog, Kara's Party Ideas, this week. It showcases fantastic functions by professional party planners. It's a great place to pilfer ideas from for your next soiree. The site also has an online store where you can purchase a number or decorations to help you achieve your desired look.

Despicable Me Minions by Giggledust Parties
Most of the posts feature children's parties,* but all contain elements perfect for any age.  The best ones think outside the box, bringing in items like the magnetic spice rack pictured above to mimic the look of the minions' eye wear.

Hunger Games Birthday by Sockerrus
My favorite parties kept things relatively simple and, by "relatively simple," I mean not completely crazypants.

Willy Wonka's Candyland Wonderland by Chakoda Designs
And by "crazypants," I mean an explosion of decorations EVERYWHERE or what looks like the contents of your grandmother's living room out in the middle of the forest.  That said, I can't help but love the visual sugar high I get looking at these candy party photos.

Vintage Alice in Wonderland Soiree by Oh Buttercup Events
I also appreciated the non-traditional takes on themes like Alice in Wonderland, especially when they incorporate items like artificial turf table runners and slabs of wood as platters.

You can find all these and so much more on Kara's blog or on her Pinterest page.

*Get ready for a brain-liquefying number of Frozen parties. God, I can't wait for the popularity of that particular movie to die down.
