February Read-Along: CINDER

Yesterday I saw Meghan tweet about buying a book. A book that I have been meaning to read for a long time. And wouldn't you know it, the eBook was on sale for $2.99. You know what this means.

It's read-along time.

CINDER (The Lunar Chronicles #1) by Marissa Meyer

"Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future."

Sci fi and fairytales. Can I get a hell yeah?

This is a Young Adult novel, however, even folks who are iffy on YA have raved about this book, so I think we have a winner.

If you're in, grab a copy from your favorite eBook retailer - it is still $2.99 (at least in the US, crossing fingers it is on sale for others) Amazon | B&N | Kobo

Or a print version from your favorite indie Indiebound

Or library it, as you will.

We'll reconvene at the end of the month to discuss.

Happy reading!

  1. I read this in the fall and have to agree it is a lot of fun. Enough so that I immediately ordered the sequel "Scarlet", though I haven't actually read it yet. Hmmm, maybe I'll read that while you catch all up. After all, "Cress" is out soon (now?). I'll definitely have to join in the discussion!
