Unless you have been living under a rock, you know of the epic struggles that have befallen our favorite community college students. Community, one of the best comedy shows on TV, has been battered and bruised by low ratings, the departure of it's creator, infighting between the cast and other problems. Community's fourth season was supposed to premier all the way back in October but was pushed back to February.
Why am I telling you this? Because Community comes back TOMORROW and you had better watch it. Six seasons and a movie! I'm not kidding. We can't be friends anymore if you don't tune in tomorrow to NBC at 8pm. I mean it.
Community is one of the funniest shows on TV right now and it's criminal that it's been treated so poorly. It's smart, witty and absolutely insane. It's also an utter delight for genre fans, with whole episodes devoted to geeky things and a Doctor Who parody that's taken on a life of it's own. It's quirky, but is also has a lot of heart. If you've never watched it before... you have no idea the fun and joy you have before you.
The show follows six misfits at a community college in Colorado and the weird, crazy things that happen there. It's like you shoved Saved By The Bell, The Twilight Zone and Doctor Who into a blender and hit "puree". It's GLORIOUS.
Why should you care, though? Look, we just lost 30 Rock and the Big Bang Theory treats geeks like zoo animals. Community gets us. It gives us memes. It gives us things to quote. It gave us a Christmas pterodactyl, darkest timeline goatees and Inspector Spacetime. At this point, it is required watching.
Be streets ahead tomorrow and watch Community!
Please. Let's not have another Arrested Development incident here.
