Deck the Halls With E-book Deals

by Kathy F

The other day I decided to peruse the Holiday deals in the Kindle store. I don't always do this. In case you don't know, books are a little addictive for me, so I do attempt to show restraint (you can stop laughing now, really). But I could only hold off for so long, and I just happened to have a bright new shiny gift card...

I found Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones for $1.99. I've never read it and have been chastising myself, so it now has a home on my Kindle. You can get it too at Amazon, B&N and Kobo, to name a few.

So, I decided to go on a little hunt to see if I could find any other deals on some fav books.

Just a note: these are US prices. I know that sometimes readers outside the US get hosed on eBook prices. Crossing my fingers you all can find some deals too.

Several books in Jennifer Estep's Elemental Assassins series are on sale. I haven't started this series yet, but I know of many who love it. You can get book 1, Spider's Bite for $2.99. Amazon | B&N | Kobo Books #2-5 are also on sale for $2.99. Here's the Goodreads series page so you have the order of it all.

A Fistful of Charms, book 4 in Kim Harrison's Hollows series is on sale (with bonus content) for $1.99. Amazon | B&N | Kobo I read book 1, but this is a series I want to catch up on.
If you are a fan of Chuck Wendig, the eBook prices for his work are generally pretty good. For instance, Blackbirds is $4.89 at Amazon | $6.01 at B&N | $5.79 at Kobo. Yeah, the difference in pricing looked weird to me too, so if you have a Kindle device or app, that is probably the way to go. Also, I'm pretty sure I paid more than $1.99 for Bait Dog, so if you liked Shotgun Gravy, this is the time to buy. Amazon | B&N

American Gods: The Tenth Anniversary Edition is $3.99. I admit, I lucked out and got this one when it was $1.99 (yes, you may hate me), but this is still a good price for an awesome read. This version has extra audio/video, but it only works on certain devices. Amazon | B&N

Jeaniene Frost is another author whose eBook prices are usually pretty good. You can get the 3rd Night Huntress book, At Grave's End, for 99 cents right now. Amazon | B&N | Kobo  Bonus, you can see Jim C. Hines recreate this cover, and donate to a good cause, too if you heard over to his blog. The first book, Halfway to the Grave is $3.79 at Amazon and B&N, and not too much more at Kobo.

That's all I got for now. Must return to baking, wrapping presents, listening to the kids' renditions of carols, and all that fun holiday stuff. If I find any more deals, I'll post them. If you know of any deals, please let us know in the comments!

Updated to Add:

Tarnished by Karina Cooper is 99 cents. Amazon | B&N | Kobo I just bought it.

Unholy Ghosts by Stacia Kane, book 1 of the phenomenal Downside Ghosts series is $2.99. If you haven't tried it yet, get off your ass and do so. Actually, you only have to metaphorically get off your ass. Just push that little buy button... Amazon | B&N | Kobo  Unholy Magic & City of Ghosts (books 2-3) are $4.99.

  1. Yep, $8.61 in Australia for Howl's. I can never tell if it's a date thing, as in we've missed the special here cos it's the 21st already (by the way, spoiler alert, the world doesn't end) or we just get gouged for being Australians.

    1. I think the book is on sale through the holidays, so it's just Australia getting the shaft again. Sorry. That sucks. Is it just Amazon, or all of the eBook vendors?

On the other hand, glad to hear Australia has made it through the apocalypse.

  2. Everyone should read all the Diana Wynne Jones because she is the awesome.
