When I saw the tagline "Steampunk Kung-Fu Throw Down" you know I had to check it out.
The storyline from IMDB says:
"Young genius Yang Luchan travels to Chen Village to learn the forbidden secrets of martial arts, but quickly learns that the village is menaced by a formidable battalion of Steampunk soldiers. The villagers realize that in order to save their home, they must trust this strange outsider with their knowledge of Tai Chi."
Um, yes please!
See the trailer after the break.
What are your thoughts? Yes, unless you speak Mandarin you must read the subtitles, but I think I need to see this one.
We all know it had me at steampunk. Then you throw in some martial arts awesomesauce and I'm in heaven.
This movie is in limited release in the US October 19 according to IMDB. Ain't It Cool says October 26. Doesn't matter for me because I only go to the movies when the stars have all aligned and the babysitting gods are appeased. I will be renting this though.
As a side note, the freaky-ass nun on the American Horror Story: Asylum ads (that I had to look at as I was checking out this flick) is going to give me some epic nightmares tonight.
Extra note: yes, I've been hitting the trailers hard lately. All of these videos keep popping up as I'm researching other stuff and I just have to share.
