Feast of Fiction

Have you ever wanted to have a big slice of cake, only to have it cruelly taken away by GLaDOS? Wanted to order a Krabby Patty but couldn't get down to Bikini Bottom? Unable to find a time machine so you can get yourself a few bottles of Slurm? Well, you are in luck! Youtube, as usual, has the answer to all your fictional food cravings!

A new Youtube channel has come to my attention and it is the epitome of awesomesauce. It combines my love of cooking programs with the desire to eat every delectable thing I've read about or seen in a movie. Feast of Fiction is a show run by a duo of talented and hilarious cooks names Ashley and Jimmy who make your favorite imaginary food into delicious reality with incredibly simple recipes. I want to stress the incredibly simple recipes part because I am terrible in the kitchen and these are items even I can make without burning the place down. Not that I ever, uh, burn anything or set off smoke alarms when I cook... no... never...
Jimmy and Ashley make Heart Potion from Legend of Zelda

The recipe I want to try the most is Bachelor Chow (now with flavor!), from Futurama. It sounds like the most delicious version of Chex Mix in the entire world. The recipe sounds so easy, even I can do it! Each video helpfully has the full recipe in the description.

Beyond just making amazing fictional foods, the videos are also incredibly entertaining. Ashley and Jimmy are very funny and deeply whimsical. Each episode embraces the show or book that each food item is from so the videos become both cooking instruction and hilarious satire.

So, if you've ever wanted to make your own Lembas bread for your own journey to Mount Doom or some fishfingers and custard to lure a certain Doctor to your doorstep, this is the show for you! After the jump are some of my favorite recipes. Join me if you want some butterbeer and sunlight soufflé!
